SENIOR CAPACITY PLANNER
Our client is a leading international mobile telecommunications provider. Due to a new project, they are now urgently looking for a Senior Capacity Planner.
The purpose of the role is to manage the capacity of the Prepay service infrastructure (including data networks, hardware and storage systems), and to produce Capacity Plans, which are key to ensuring efficient utilisation of resources, and the timely acquisition and deployment of future technology and resources. Applicants should be of Degree calibre with at least three years senior capacity planning experience in a blue chip organisation. You will have produced capacity plans across a broad base of systems and these should have been adopted by the business. The successful candidate will also have exceptional statistical numeracy skills.
The technical skills required include a good knowledge and experience of Sun and HP hardware configuration and performance, and Oracle and DB2 databases as deployed in a real-time telecoms infrastructure. An understanding of GPRS and UMTS and knowledge of performance and capacity drivers and constraints of servers and data networks. A good understanding of IP networks is also required as is knowledge and experience of security principles and experience of industry standard firewall products, including high availability solutions.
