An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commissioning Engineer to work for our clients who are an exciting business involved in the electrical and automation industry. For this role preferably you will live in or near Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire or near Leicester, Corby, Peterborough or Huntingdon. My client are recruiting and investing in a number of areas and have in place a strategic plan that will see them continue to grow substantially in the coming years.
As a Commissioning Engineering you will need to be proactive and be cable of working on your own and within a team. You will be required to apply your extensive technical skills to provide commissioning and testing expertise for various projects in the design and operation of PLC related projects. Further responsibilities will be interfacing with local project staff. You will be an extremely strong communicator as communication will be a key element of this role, you will liaise constantly with project managers and keep them briefed with all current activities. To exceed in this role you will need to build various relationships but especially with the Project Manager's on each project.
You will have many years experience in industrial commissioning and design of PLC systems. Ideally you will have direct experience with Siemens PLC's and particularly their S7 / PL7 ranges. You will posses an industry related qualification preferably from engineering background. You will have an ability to analyse problems and specify solutions and have analytical aptitude to interpret trend analysis and anticipate problems. Key knowledge will be the understanding of commissioning PLC's with particular knowledge of Siemens technology. Due to the nature of the role you will be required to occasionally work out of the office at client's site which will sometimes require working outside of normal working hours and you must have a valid full driving licence.
