Hardware / Software Engineers, Dorset, test systems, LabView, TestStand, CVI, C++, analogue, digital, electrical, electronics, ethernet
Responsible to the Engineering Manager, you will be an active design engineer, having responsibility for developing bespoke test systems for a variety of applications.
Tasks will include:
Design and development of bespoke automated test solutions, for some of the following applications: Telecoms, Optoelectronics, Semiconductors, Automotive, Aerospace, Wireless or RF.
Design of automated test system software and hardware (electrical and electronic), as required. Use of bought-in hardware as required.
Working closely with external customer and sales during the technical assessment and quotation stages.
Primary engineering interface to the customer during definition, development, design review, commissioning and on-site installation stages.
Experience and Personal Characteristics:
Broad experience in software and systems test engineering.
Full time use of National Instruments LabView, knowledge of Test Stand and C / CVI / C++ would also be an advantage.
Experienced in analogue and digital design engineering, applied to automated test systems and test fixtures. Use of CAD / CAE tools.
Good communication skills, both internally and with customers. Some commercial experience would be an advantage.
Experienced with some of the following interface standards: GPIB, LXI, PXI, RS232, RS485, RS422, Ethernet.
Degree qualification is an advantage, as is experience of successfully team leading small projects (1 to 5 people), to agreed specification, timescales and budget.
