We have an excellent career opportunity for an Electrical Design Support Engineer located in Hertfordshire to provide electrical design support primarily to Special Projects, but also to Electrical R and D, and Operations as required.
Essential Functions and Duties:
? Work in conjunction with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in designing special vibration test systems based on the standard LDS product range.
? Ensure design processes and finished products comply with legal and commercial standards.
? Determination and evaluation of customer applications.
? Assisting the Project Engineer in producing detailed quotations and explanation of the solution offered.
? Production of site layout utility requirements, interconnection drawings and schematics (some UK and worldwide travel is a possibility).
? Design For Manufacture of new materials using 2D CAD tools including ME10 and ProTel.
? Compiling Bills of Materials and other essential documentation including Quality Standard documents (ISO9000).
? Working to agreed timescales and communicating progress at regular intervals to all levels within the business.
? Assistance in Acceptance Testing (both at factory and customer site).
? Compilation of comprehensive Technical Files.
? Exceptional focus on Right First Time Design and minimizing warranty, including carrying out Engineering Change as necessary.
You will have experience of Design for Manufacture with a proven track record of Right First Time Design. Knowledge of ISO 9000 with experience of implementing and developing quality procedures. Competence on 3D CAD modeling using SolidWorks (FEA using CosmosWorks), Legacy 2D CAD, Microsoft office suite, Lotus Notes and SAP (or other high end MRP system). In depth knowledge of CE marking requirements and associated regulations and an Engineering (Electro-Mechanical systems with a bias towards Electrical) qualification, to degree level or higher.
