This Oxford based fabless semiconductor company requires an IC Layout Engineer to be involved in developing Analogue / RF IC CMOS chipsets for wireless digital broadcast applications (digital TV, digital radio, DVB, DAB) aimed at the portable products market (eg. Personal media players, mobile phones etc). Their product range covers radio comms frequencies from VHF to satellite 5GHz.
The role requires responsibility for analogue circuit layout (including top-level and RF circuit layouts) using CMOS or bipolar technology at mask level and with minimal supervision. The layouts will need to incorporate the needs of the floorplan, designer specific requirements, foundry design rules and recommendations, as well as the guidelines of the project or company. There will need to be familiarity with design tools (eg Cadence) for schematic entry and layout (Virtuoso Layout-XL, Assura DRC, LVS & RCX) tools. Also familiarity with component matching and balanced I and Q or differential nets and parasitic loading.
You will join a small design team where you can take full responsibility for your layouts and feel the satisfaction of realising your positive contribution to the growing success of the business. It is also key that you have good analytical and communication skills with both the ability to work in a team and also autonomously. Please note this is an IC layout position, applications that only demonstrate general board-level layout won't be processed without supporting evidence of IC layout.
