My client in Oxfordshire are seeking to recruit a Microfluidics / Flow Cell Specialist. This position is commutable from Oxford, Witney & Bicester.
My client has created an automated fluidics system that is capable of single molecule detection and DNA sequencing. A position is now available to lead development of the system chemistry, taking a hands-on approach to optimising the capabilities of the fluidics cartridge and coordinating investigation of novel improvements.
The successful candidate will lead the optimization of a proprietary fluids device for DNA sequencing using arrays of self-assembly molecules. This is an interdisciplinary role involving the development and optimization of a fluidic system for controlled delivery of reagents and automated formation of arrays of membrane bound proteins.
The preferred candidate will be qualified to Doctorate level in a chemical science relating to materials surface chemistry, lipid bilayers, protein manipulation or a similar discipline. Ideally, candidates will also have hands-on experience in the development of a fluidics system gained in a commercial environment, including test method development and design of experiments.
