My client in Oxfordshire are seeking to recruit a Development Engineer. This position is commutable from Oxford, Witney & Bicester.
This role interfaces the design of the instrumentation with the needs of the customer and internal scientists and engineers. Through building, testing and developing the overall instrument systems this position is a key part of the design of a successful product.
You will provide development engineering resource for product development, with particular emphasis on integrating mechanisms, fluidics and electronics. You will be involved in design, development, testing and evaluation of hardware systems.
Experience required: degree level engineering, physics or equivalent plus some development experience.
It would be of particular interest if you have R&D experience of laboratory instrumentation, sensors, electronic systems or fluidics.
Also of interest would be experience of the following:
Methodologies for system level specification, design and evaluation.
Mechanisms, interfaces, electronic housings.
It would be advantageous if you had any experience of the following:
Software abilities; such as MatLab, LabView or Windows programming.
Experience in transferring products into manufacturing.
A general understanding of biology or life-science areas.
