Redline Group requires Software Testing and Documentation Engineer(s) bases in Edinburgh for our Client who is a service provider to the oil and gas industry.
The Software Testing and Documentation Engineer will join out clients existing Edinburgh base and be dedicated to the development of software for the upstream oil industry. The jobholder will be responsible for testing, documentation and support of the ResView Formation Testing product. The job involves initiating testing, documentation and user support activities in a "Greenfield" project currently starting development. ResView will be a hosted web based application responsible for managing Formation Testing data and supplying access and data analysis to Weatherford formation tester clients. These clients are based worldwide and will rely on Resview to give them a real time view of activities in, and data from their wells.
Duties will include designing system test program to prove compliance with requirements, performing and documenting testing activities throughout development life cycle, writing user documentation and refining on-screen navigation, text and usability (in conjunction with developers). The role will also include producing user training materials, setting up and management of the project issue tracking system and supporting early field use of software, and later liaising between field users and development providing support, and managing enhancement requests.
Candidates should be educated to degree level within a relevant Engineering or Science subject and have experience in software or engineering project organisation and management and have had extensive use of office productivity applications to level of "power user". Knowledge of main issues and processes in software development is also required.
Candidates must also have the following experienced and knowledge:
"Experience in C#/.NET software Development
"Knowledge of XML, XML Data Standards and XML Web Services
"Experience in petroleum engineering, preferably in reservoir engineering
"Knowledge of project management methods and tools
"Experience in developing and/or testing technology applications
"Experience with automated testing tools and environments
