Redline are looking to recruit A Software Engineer for our clients operation based in Edinburgh. Our client has a strong presence in the oil and gas industry offering services and consultancy to key players within this market sector. With continued growth year on year they are looking to recruit talented individuals across there operations within the UK.
This role will be to provide systems analysis and programming support to the full range of P&SS engineering development and support projects, across a range of hardware platforms and to provide preparation of software specifications based on engineering requirements and preparation of coding specifications based on these software specifications. This role will also be responsible for Coding of user interface, data communications and other software in C, Matlab or other high level language. Support of software with users, both internal and external including preparation of training materials and other documentation and identification and management of third-party software contractors, you will also be required to travel to our clients other sites.
Candidates for this role must show that they have gained relevant experience within an engineering and /or software area ideally within the oil& gas sector however candidates from out with this industry should also apply if they are keen to move into the oil& gas industry.
Essential for this role is knowledge and experience of the following : Programming skills in a visual/graphic environment; 'C/C++' programming; a understanding of data analysis process and ideally have some knowledge of the pipeline industry (although this is not essential). Candidates must also be degree qualified within a relevant field, however candidates who do not possess academic accreditation but have the experience should also apply.
