Redline require a Applications Engineer for our client to be based in East Kilbride, Scotland. Our client is a global leader in the design and manufacture of embedded semiconductors for automotive, industrial, communications, wireless, consumer and networking applications. Growth has created the need for additional Applications Engineers in the Telecom/Networking domain.
The Applications Engineer will be responsible for developing hardware/software solutions for the Wireless Infrastructure market across Europe. You will be working closely with our clients sales and marketing teams as well as our global engineering teams to help define, develop and demonstrate solutions at our key customers. Supporting customer enablement and ramp-up on Freescale technologies is also a key part of the role.
Applicants for the Applications Engineering role should educated to Degree level within Electronics Engineering or a related discipline. Have a working knowledge of mobile communications systems and protocols and be able demonstrate a thorough grounding in embedded software development environments (C knowledge essential). Applicants must also have a good hardware appreciation (micro-processor architectures, high-speed interfaces, etc). This with a proven track record in problem solving and working in a multi-disciplined teams.
We are particularly interested to hear from candidates who have a knowledge of PowerQUICC and DSP products, have a working knowledge of high-speed communication protocols (1G/10G Ethernet, Rapid-IO, PCI-Express), experience of multi-threaded / multi-processor programming and have experience in Schematic entry / high speed digital design / FPGA design.
