Redline require a mechanical Design Engineer to join out clients operation in Aberdeen.
Out client is a leader in the design and manufacture of ROV's.
The mechanical design engineer will be part of a multi-disciplined engineering team that
Designs remote controlled electro-mechanical and hydraulic products that are used in harsh environments. The mechanical engineer will be responsible for the mechanical design of both new products and upgrading existing products and taking a design from concept to final assembly.
Responsibilities for this role include, design of new remotely operated underwater products. Modelling of parts and assemblies and production of detailed drawings and assembly drawings in Solidworks. Checking drawings, for dimensional accuracy, tolerances and presentation and the analysis of the equipment involving; force and stress analysis, mechanism analysis, and hydraulic and electro-mechanical analysis of drive systems involving motors,
Gearing and actuators. The analysis will involve hand calculations and spreadsheets with Mathcad and Excel, and finite element analysis with Cosmos. Interaction with electronic design engineers to ensure the product is designed
Concurrently with electronic component integration. Interaction with production/quality/stores/purchasing departments to ensure that parts and builds are as per the design.
Applicants must be Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering and be very competent in the use of 3D CAD software. Applicants must also be very competent with FEA and hand calculations.
