A Senior Quality Assurance Engineer is required for a contract in the Midlands to work closely with suppliers ensuring they supply defect free products with a bias to wards Electronics.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work for one of the ten largest Automotive supplier and a financial leader in the industry
Main Duties:
Work in accordance with Global Supplier Quality Management requirements.
Utilise VIN database to monitor supplier's performance and provide management information.
Manage APQP/ PPAP and change activities during current production.
Manage effective containment and traceability actions at production lines and off site locations. If required liaise with 3rd party inspection companies.
Ensure effective parts and process audits are conducted at suppliers when required.
Where appropriate ensure effective Quality Improvement plans and Controlled Shipping are implemented.
Develop suppliers problem solving / improvement capabilities utilising 5Why/8D and 6 Sigma techniques. Ensure speedy problem resolution / concern closure.
Work closely with corporate SQA ensuring new initiatives are successfully implemented. Eg, cost recovery, Layered audits , QOS etc?.
Lead top level supplier review s and report progress into senior./ Exec. Management.
Skills & Characteristics/Qualifications:
Educated to degree/HND level in electrical/electronics engineering
Experience within the automotive industry
Experience of supplier quality assurance or supplier development
Knowledge and understanding of TS16949 : 2002
Audit experience of systems and processes.
Must be able to demonstrate sound application of problem solving methodology
Good communication, presentation and IT skills.
Prepared to travel to overseas suppliers when required.
Driving license essential.
