Are you a graduate in electronics and/or lighting with a good knowledge of LED technology? If the answer is yes then we want to hear from you.
The Company:
An AIM listed electronics and electro-mechanical designer and manufacturer of lighting, power and electrical systems for transport, defence and aerospace applications.
The group's electronics and lighting specialist has developed a number of lighting products using solid state, light emitting diode technology for applications in the rail vehicle, rail infrastructure and defence markets.
Why the Vacancy?
Recognising the exciting potential of Solid State LED applications, they are expanding their engineering and sales and marketing capacity to accelerate the participation in this market.
As part of this process they are seeking to appoint a Solid State LED Lighting Product Manager in a new position to be based at Normanton in West Yorkshire.
This is a senior appointment, which will initially report to the Group Sales and Marketing Executive.
The Role will involve
- Working closely with the design and engineering, sales support and operations departments
- Working with, and supporting, field sales engineers and other group market and product specialists, to generate and develop opportunities
- Working with the Group Marketing Manager in relation to LEDs to develop appropriate marketing tools including exhibitions, brochures, technical articles, adverts and the group web site
- Developing sales and marketing and product development plans for LED lighting applications, concentrating on higher added value opportunities in markets such as transportation, defence, food processing, pharmaceutical, medical, hazardous and difficult access areas, retail, emergency and other markets
The Person will
- Be a team player, customer oriented, personable, persuasive, enthusiastic and have a positive ‘can do' attitude
- Have leadership qualities
- Have project management skills as well as field sales experience
- Be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of the advantages of LED technology compared with traditional lighting methods
- Have or be able to develop an understanding of electronic drive modules and lensing of LEDs required to satisfy lighting applications
- Be likely to have knowledge of electronics and/or lighting and be a graduate
- Benefit from having some European Language ability in addition to English, which need not be the first language
