Highway Designer / Highway Engineer: Our client is seeking a highly motivated highway engineer to join the Highways team in the southwest. The post is likely to suit those highway professionals who wish to develop their career in the project management design and procurement of major highway projects.
The role will involve work on national and international projects and applicants will be expected to have about 5 years post graduate experience. They will have completed a formal training scheme designed to facilitate corporate membership of a professional institution and have previous experience in highway alignment and junction design, road pavement design and /or urban infrastructure improvement. The right candidate will be a flexible team player with a positive attitude, and an ability to manage and prioritise workloads. Individuals will be required to develop design concepts and carry out preliminary and detailed designs as well as managing small teams. They will be encouraged to develop specialist skills whilst retaining an overall capability in managing, designing and procuring highway schemes. Relevant technical skills, along with an excellent presentation manner, strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure are a must.
