An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Assistant Engineer who will be responsible for the preventative and reactive maintenance support to production, general building and outdoor maintenance, working within budget and helping to develop the H&S system across 2 sites.
Our client is a FMCG foods manufacturer with a growing reputation for its portfolio of high quality orientated products and its professional relationship with its customers.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager your key responsibilities will be
Maintain excellent level of service to production operation.
Assist Maintenance Manager to develop new machinery plan.
Active participation in sourcing quotations for equipment/ machinery according to business needs.
Reduce expenditure by developing preventive maintenance system
Maintain production equipment in acceptable working order
Minimise time reaction to machinery breakdown
Identify future machinery issues by carrying out weekly audits and organise repair
Demonstrate a proactive attitude toward maintenance
Act as production contact point for external engineer and supplier
Develop training and induction system in relation to machinery & equipment
Provide Health and safety training at induction.
Maintain a safe working environment for all people on site
You will have a Mechanical and Electrical Certificate, with good I.T. Knowledge, be a team player with good communication skills and capable of working under pressure. You will also be versatile and flexible with an excellent attention to detail and able to make decisions.
