EMMA Series - Multi Media Solutions
NEC is firmly established as one of the world?s most successful semiconductor manufacturers. They are at the forefront of Digital A/V technology deploying products such as the EMMA (Enhanced Multimedia Architecture) Series of LSI chips for diverse fields, such as digital TVs, set-top boxes, and next-generation DVDs.
Based in Milton Keynes, we seek a Principal Software Engineer to manage and lead software projects for the deployment of EMMA series devices into the customer base. Whilst acting as the technical reference point, the individual will co-ordinate activities with NEC Japan and other overseas offices.
Candidates will be thoroughly conversant with software development, down to the lowest level BIOS on EMMA series of chips, with a minimum of 4-8 years engineering experience. Skills will include the development of low level API drivers and Middleware for SOC solutions, embedded C, Assembler and Real-Time O/S's (e.g.WinCE, Linux etc), MPEG2 AudioNideo, Middleware (Open TV, Mediahighway, NDS Core, Conditional Access, etc) and Software Quality Control procedures (coding standards, static path analysis, test/validation, source control and release procedures, etc)
