This global semiconductor company is seeking an Applications Engineer STB / Digital TV based in Bucks to focus on advanced technology solutions for digital consumer markets, mobile handset and platform solutions for a wide range of customer applications.
Reporting to the Applications Manager for EMEA Consumer Market (including Russia, Commonwealth of Independent States and Africa) the Applications Engineer STB / Digital TV will:
Design and development of reference solutions to support new and existing devices to support STB and DTV products.
Development of low level Software to demonstrate the above reference solutions.
Design and develop tools to support customer design-ins
Project manage third parties who will design and manufacture the systems
Customer support of products during Hardware design phase
Ideal candidates will have a background in high speed microprocessor hardware and embedded software including an understanding of basic peripherals.
Knowledge of the Consumer Market (Digital TV and Set Top Box) would be advantageous together with low level API drivers and Middleware for SOC solutions, embedded C, Assembler and Real-Time O/S's (e.G.WinCE, Linux etc), MPEG2 AudioNideo, Middleware (Open TV, Mediahighway, NDS Core, Conditional Access, etc)
