Our client is a global leader in the field of surface technology and due to expansion is searching for an External Sales Engineer to deal in many diverse fields including wear protection of precision components, metal cutting, forming / punching, zinc and aluminium die casting and plastics moulding.
As an External Sales Engineer you will be responsible for monitoring the market demand/share for wear part and tool coating, generating new customers and maintaining the existing business. You will be required to conduct technical / commercial discussions with customers at all levels, present seminars when required and to liaise with members of the sales team and internal staff. You must generate and follow up quotations for the tool coating division and to obtain orders, whilst monitoring the competitors technical and commercial activities and strategies and to report these in appropriate detail. Other duties include preparing and agreeing annual order budgets, monthly rolling order forecast revisions, completing essential administrative duties such as updating the computer system, indicating planned visits and end-of-week record of visits and trials.
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level in Production or Manufacturing Engineering, you must have commercial and sales experience and good communications skills at all levels. A strong technical background in Heat Treatment or the ‘Mould and Die’ industry would be favourable. This opportunity is a steppingstone for future management opportunities within the company for the correct applicant.
