<b>Job Description</b> <br><p>Atkins as part of a joint venture with a design and build contractor is recruiting a Design Co-ordinator to work as part of a team to deliver £500 million of a design and build clean and wastewater solution over the next 5 years. </p><p>The Design Co-ordinator shall comprise a significantly experienced individual within the water industry and shall have a demonstrable ability to pro-actively co-ordinate design, identify trouble spots and regulate solutions from the design teams and ensure delivery in a line with the project deadlines. </p><br><br><b>Requirements</b> <br><ul><li>5-10 years within a Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering design role</li><li>Preferably a Chartered Engineer </li><li>Ability to manage/co-ordinate multiple projects within a design and build joint venture. </li><li>Previous experience of a co-ordinating a design team within a multi-disciplinary design and build joint venture environment </li></ul><br><br><b>Responsibilities</b> <br><p>The Design Co-ordinator has a key role in the co-ordination of the multi-disciplinary design and build joint venture teams and their responsibilities will include: </p><ul><li>Manage the implementation of best design practice <li>Manage the delivery of design with respect of quality, cost and to programme. <li>Ability to challenge design to ensure value for money and ensure design safety is being implemented. <li>Produce project design progress reports incorporating civil, mechanical and electrical engineering <li>Produce and maintain the “Project Design Plan” <li>Coordinate the interface between Construction and Design Teams <li>Manage and arrange all Design Meetings <li>Report on design progress to Area Construction Manager <li>Co-ordinate and enforce design change control <li>Co-ordinate input and flow of information between all engineering disciplines within Design including Structural Steelwork, Flooring, Storage Tanks, Framework Suppliers and other Stakeholders <li>Coordinate design information for Building Regulation Approval. <li>Ensure Design risk assessments are carried out at the appropriate time by all Designers and that ensure that the appropriate Design Quality Plans are produced and maintained. <li>Maintain a design quality alert system for the project and feed into the Quality Assurance Manager </li></ul><br><br><b>The Individual</b> <br><p>As part of our design consltancy business your beenfits will include:</p><ul><li>25 days annual leave </li><li>Flexible annual leave scheme </li><li>Pension scheme </li><li>Life Assurance Scheme </li><li>Employee Assistance Programme </li><li>Share Incentive Plan</li></ul><br><br>
