Skills

Real time embedded software engineer to work on the design of telecommunications equipment and services, in particular distant end command and control applications. You must have proven skills in programming in C and assembler; high speed digital design, microprocessors, DSP, FPGA and various memory devices. Specific requirements are a working knowledge of Motorola Power Quicc, Globspan Orion and drivers, TCP/IP stacks and code verification, PC simulation and target evaluation. Knowledge of MetroWerks Code Warrior IDE, ARC/CMX OS, TCP/IP or Echelon protocol useful. This is an ISO 9001 company so you will be working in the strict disciplines of a version control environment. You must have knowledge of general communication protocols, SNMP management and appreciation of hardware circuit design would be desirable. For future developments within the company a working knowledge of VoIP, ISDN, TDM and ATM would be desirable. This is a contract role paying in excess of GBP30 / hour.
