An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Broadcast Antenna Installation Engineer to join a leading provider of development, installation and support services for the communications infrastructure for the broadcast, transport, military and civil industries.
This position is in their Broadcast business stream where they provide solutions for the prestigious digital switchover programme for the UK broadcast industry and is responsible for providing technical supervision to rigging teams on high powered broadcast antenna and feeder installations. Main duties will include to instruct rigging teams on installation methodology, to carry out detailed proposal surveys and site surveys, to carry out the testing and commissioning of antenna systems and reading & understanding of technical proposals and producing written technical installation method statements and risk assessments.
Key skills/experience:
Good understanding of the principles of antenna design, assembly techniques and component and system testing
Have a good knowledge of leading high powered broadcasting antenna, feeders and components suppliers and installation specifications
Excellent knowledge of safe working at height practices and lifting methodologies & regulations
Several years' previous experience of high powered antenna installation
Candidates must have good communication skills and excellent practical problem solving capability. This is a field based so candidates must be prepared to travel throughout the UK.
