My client, based in Cheltenham - Gloucestershire, currently require a Programme Delivery Manager to join their rapidly expanding Broadcast team.
Job Purpose
To lead a team of 10+ people responsible for the effective programme delivery of digital switchover programmes for the UK broadcast industry.
This entails overall management of projects with an annual turnover of c.£15 million, (currently) from contract award through design, assembly/test and on site installation.
To work in line with business stream operational methodologies, performance expectations and resource management strategy, and coordinate with support functions such as Finance, QSE, HR & Commercial.
Duties / Accountabilities
To manage the effective delivery of the digital switchover programme, assuming responsibility for the achievement of programme milestones on all projects.
Build high levels of customer satisfaction by ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet quality requirements.
Ensure effective management of project resources to increase cost efficiency and sustain high levels of quality and safe workmanship, including subcontractor programme and financial management.
Ensure that project costs are monitored and managed in order to maximise revenue, margins and cash flow.
Contribute to and apply the business stream Management systems in conjunction with QSE.
Stimulating and encouraging empowerment, innovation and creativity within the project teams.
To support pursuit of new global broadcast business opportunities.
Responsible for leading and developing project team members including succession planning to ensure that motivated, capable teams are available.
Manage project risk control, proposing considered and informed decisions to be made to manage project and operational risks.
Requirements / Competencies
Several years project management experience in a telecoms, construction or related sector. Previous broadcast experience would be an advantage.
Experience in the use of formal PM methodologies.
Team leadership experience and the ability to develop others.
Effective Change Manager.
Financial and commercial acumen including excellent knowledge of P&L management, costing, budgeting, pricing, forecasting and reporting.
Customer facing, good negotiation and influencing skills.
IT literate.
Understanding of ISO 9000 based effective Business Management Systems.
