We have a requirement for a Product Quality Engineer located in Hertfordshire to be responsible for the quality of a range of products from light electro mechanical modules, through to wired equipment cases to mainly mechanical cast point machines.
Inspection of components, assemblies and products 'in-house' and suppliers premises
Investigation of technical problems e.G. Poor fit of components, inability to meet technical specification or test requirements
Carry out failure investigations with respect to customer complaints and quality problems
Raise inspection and problem reports to enable engineering problems to be resolved
Work with design authority to resolve technical problems that affect the quality of components and products, progress resolution of problems including design authority to minimise delay in output of components and products
Carry out audits of supplier and internal processes and procedures
Monitor progress of corrective actions and ensure that the actions taken are satisfactory
The ideal candidate will have:
Several years mechanical, electro mechanical and electrical inspection or production engineering experience
Experience within a Safety Critical environment would be a distinct advantage
Understanding of ISO 9001 with the ability to write reports and advise on technical problems
Production control documentation with experience of auditing and quality assurance.
Assembly techniques and electrical wiring and workmanship standards
