Our client is one of the leading international aerospace companies working in the helicopter industry. Based in the South West of England, they design and manufacture a range of defence and commercial aircraft.
They currently have vacancies for experienced Aerospace Engineer across a range of departments including: Rotor Stress Engineers, Rotor Dynamics and Rotor Aerodynamics specialists.
For these roles candidates should have at least 5 years commercial experience in the field of rotor engineering with a background in either Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Aerodynamics or Mechanical Engineering. Postgraduate qualifications are of benefit.
Senior / Principal Engineer – Stress Engineering Group
• Carrying out stress calculations of engineering schemes, drawings and related documentation to provide specifications and analysis of structural stress as a company approved signatory
• Defining structural and operation limit restrictions
• Carrying out evaluation of new methods, materials and processes
• Attending design reviews to agree the progress of designs
• Leading a small project team and ensuring they are able to undertake tasks required by them within cost and time scales
• Representing Rotor Stress at meetings with other business disciplines, external agencies and regulatory authorities to ensure sufficient awareness and understanding of stress issues.
Senior / Principal Engineer – Dynamics Group
• Monitor and control assigned Rotor Dynamics tasks to achieve Engineering objectives within financial constraints.
• Investigate and evaluate new Rotor Dynamic Technologies, advanced methods and design qualification processes, within specific guidelines and broad supervision.
• Analyse the results from test programmes, both internal and external, including the provision of design data for model rotor blades and associated instrumentation for wind tunnel testing.
• Implement suitable processes for the analysis and interpretation of flight-test data to resolve rotor development problems.
• Ability to comprehend conceptual function of innovative rotor technology and contribute towards the development of dynamic designs to meet both technical and cost objectives.
• Develop analytical capability in Rotor Aeromechanics to implement the analysis for completion of Rotor Dynamics qualification tasks, by analysing test data and using prediction methods, to maximise product performance within Airworthiness constraints of safety.
• Predict specific performance attributes of rotor systems that will influence the rotor loads, vibration and stability limitations of the aircraft. Minimise risk by collating analytical methods with prescribed test data.
• Supply the required airworthiness and qualification documentation to satisfy airworthiness authorities.
Senior / Principal Engineer – Rotor Aerodynamics Group
• Monitor and control Rotor Aerodynamics tasks, including the work of junior engineers, to achieve engineering objectives within financial and time constraints
• Investigate, develop and evaluate new rotor aerodynamic technologies, advanced methods and processes, within broad guidelines and minimal supervision
• Provide hardware definitions, monitor progress and interpret the analysis of results from test programmes, both internal and external, including the design of model rotor blades/aerofoils and associated instrumentation for wind tunnel testing
• Define and implement design processes for the analysis and in
