Responsible for a small team of Pre-sales technical consultants and the validation of designs and implementation of custom solutions for Internet and Enterprise applications infrastructures. Role: * Working with sales staff to accurately define client solutions and to assist in the bid and sales process. * Provide technical appraisal of client needs and potential solutions. * Consult with clients either in person or through conference calls to understand their exact technical requirements. * Talking clients through possible solutions to best suit their requirements within set budgets. * Walk clients through the various technologies proposed and explain the reasoning for proposed technologies. * Designing the solution that has been agreed with the client. * Produce solution design documentation to show all information pertaining to the design along with a diagram of the design. * Get the solutions approval from client or if there are problems re budget or design, work with the sales person to overcome these problems. * Prepare all final documentation for the formal proposal and ensure signed off by relevant parties. * Highlight any unsupported or non-standard Client requirements to the R&D group. * Take responsibility for resource allocation and resource conflict * Check and approve sales documentation for the team * Assist in the development of team skills * Development of the Pre-sales Consultants into a team that adds value to the business and has an identity of its own Person: * An excellent understanding of designing suitable architectures for n-tier Internet and Enterprise applications and their associated infrastructure. * Previous team leadership or management role or demonstrable ability in leadership and motivation. * Expert in Windows Server System, Cisco networking, Solaris, BEA WebLogic, and Oracle. Ideally MCSD/MCSE + I, CCNA qualified and SUN Systems Administrator certification. * 5-8 years in an Internet and enterprise infrastructure solutions design environment based around Microsoft/Cisco/HP/SUN technologies. * Previous track record of providing technical consultancy. * Documentation of infrastructure solutions. * Validation of solution designs * Excellent attention to detail. * Ability and commitment to work to tight timescales. * Ability to work on several assignments concurrently.
