The role is primarily technology focused, although the HTML Developer will be expected to have an appreciation of the creative and design processes, and will be able to communicate effectively with these teams, giving them sight of the ‘art of the possible’. Our client has a commitment to accessibility and the role of HTML Developer encompasses strong XHTML, CSS and Javascript, as well as a strong understanding of W3C WAI guidelines and will be expected to implement sites to Priority AAA standard. The HTML Developer will also be expected to have deep experience in coding to pixel perfect standards for different browsers, and to appreciate the differences in HTML rendering on a per browser basis. Knowledge and skills * Strong experience (3+ years) of HTML, DHTML and XHTML * Strong experience (3+ years of) CSS and Javascript * Strong understanding of programming techniques and best practice within a given technical field * Understanding of back end development approaches, techniques and technologies * Strong understanding and appreciation of different browser technologies, rendering issues and cross browser testing * Appreciation and understanding of the strengths and limitations of different content management platforms * Ability to work as part of a flexible team that includes both technology and design personnel * Appreciation of the need for source code control and understanding of a major source code control system * Appreciation of XML and XSLT would be advantageous although not necessary Key responsibilities * Understand the technical solution * Deliver web pages as XHTML to predefined technology standards, including WAI Priority AAA * Implement third party technologies and products as required by the technical solution * Quality assurance and troubleshooting of HTML * Provides estimates of timescales to implement relevant parts of the technical solution * Responsible for sharing knowledge amongst the technical and design teams If interested in this position simply apply via the button shown.
