Job Summary

Martel Instruments Limited is a highly acclaimed company with an excellent reputation and the accolade of being the first Instrument manufacturers in the world to lead with and commercialise the application of Surface Mount Technology (SMT). The company design and manufacture an extensive range of printers and display modules (LCD's) using leading edge technology.

The Area Sales Manager UK South will be responsible for increasing revenue from all existing customers in the region, assisting other Martel sales managers, and identifying and opening up new accounts and markets within the UK to meet agreed sales targets and business objectives for growth.

It is imperative that the successful candidate has the right attitude, approach, and experience for a growing company in the SME sector. A commitment to the needs of the business and an appreciation of the Directors priorities and requirements will be extremely important. A combination of down to earth practicality, charisma and credibility to operate within the customer base is being sought.

Drive, ambition and hard work will be the order of the day and there may be a significant amount of time spent away from home but not on a regular basis. It is therefore imperative that the person appointed is looking for a situation in which to achieve results and is motivated by a challenge and an opportunity to make a positive impact. The person should also be familiar with working out of a home-based environment and would need to maintain a strong communication link with the Global Sales Director who is based in Stanley. Stability and longevity are also important and Martel Instruments are looking for a person who would like to develop a long-term career with the company.

Essential skills / Qualifications / Experience:

- Specific knowledge of printer technology or similar
- Experience in an electronics environment
- Experience of selling customised solutions
- Demonstrable background in sales
- A minimum of 3 years sales experience
- Experience of prospecting and making own sales appointments
- Experience of selling electronic based products
- Home working facilities
- Computer literate in MS Office

Desirable skills / Qualifications / Experience:

Qualification in electronics
