description A researcher is required to perform cross product research across funds and strategies. The initial focus of research will be upon the definition and study of the capacity of funds. The successful candidate will work as part of the Risk Management team reporting to the Risk Manager. To be considered for this position the candidate will be a graduate in applied statistics or operational research. The candidate must feel comfortable with the cleaning and handling of large data sets, preferably using Matlab or Splus. This is a fantastic opportunity for a mature candidate with office management experience to undertake the following duties:
Ø Overall management of reception staff as well as organising a weekly rota
Ø Ensuring that all outgoing and incoming Post are recorded and/or distributed appropriately
Ø Facilities - house-keeping -ordering all the supplies needed to run an efficient and professional office, keeping track of when supplies are running low and making sure goods are ordered before they run out.
Ø Health & Safety
Ø Recording of A/L, sickness, time keeping etc
Ø Responsibility for all offices throughout the group
Ø Training & guidance of staff, giving support where necessary
Ø Management of the cleaning of building -
Ø General ad hoc duties
skills Due to the nature of this role superb organisational skills, combined with the ability to multi task and maintain confidentiality is required.
Being efficient and detailed are important qualities for this role, as is having plenty of initiative. You must have strong communication and interpersonal skills because you will be dealing with a variety of different people on a day-to-day basis.
