Key tasks will cover: Frequency and gain planning of up and down conversion paths, receiver & filter design, power amplifier & PLL synthesiser design, design and/or component selection of other signal path elements, eg amplifiers, mixers, etc, interfacing to signal processing sections, eg DAC, ADC
Project implementation will include: PCB layout (usually liaising with a PCB draughtsman), screening and mechanical arrangements, testing and qualification of prototype designs, integration of designs with other system elements, documentation, eg design specifications, test specifications
It is essential you should have proven experience in RF circuitry design, implementation & integration into communications products. This should have covered modern surface-mount components, and ideally will have covered screening, housing, interface and interconnect design.
You should also have experience of usng RF test instrumentation and RF simulation/modelling while working in a small multidisciplinary team environment. Ideally you will have specific exposure to ground segment satellite comms equipment.
